The survey, conducted online in August 2020, included 1,000 respondents each from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. Respondents were aged between 18 and 65 and held at least one bank account. The BankQuality Scores (BQS) are derived from the standardised z-score of the Net Promoter Score (NPS) of "Main Bank" institutions, with a mean set to 100, allowing for comparison across markets. Banks with fewer than 30 "Main Bank" responses were excluded from the final ranking.
