Breaking Language Barriers: Transforming banking with GenAI in 2024
By Rakshit Prabhakar

Generative AI (GenAI), supported by knowledge graphs, is rapidly evolving and will soon be able to produce more perceptive and contextually relevant materials while minimising errors.

  • AI will improve its understanding of multilingual languages.
  • Easy to communicate with AI interface.
  • Future trends in banking with AI.

The ability of artificial intelligence (AI) systems to understand and evaluate human language more correctly is an important development in natural language processing and understanding. Previously, language processing models faced significant challenges with slang, confusing phrasing, and complex sentence structures. However, recent advances in artificial neural networks and machine learning techniques have greatly enhanced these systems.

These days, AI-driven language processors can recognise emotions in text, interpret context, and translate common phrases effectively. The ability of chatbots and virtual assistants to respond to client inquiries in a more personalised and human-like manner is changing several industries. Additionally, the integration of voice assistants into electronics represents a significant advancement in natural language processing.

Enhanced multilingualism and rapid language translation

Improved multilingual communication and real-time language translation, made possible by advanced language models, will allow people and companies to interact with one another on a global scale. These systems may simulate human communication by understanding user concerns, responding in multiple languages, and providing customer service, thereby reshaping the corporate landscape through VoiceAI.

There are growing indications that banks are beginning to see the business opportunities associated with engaging with marginalised groups. For instance, in 2001, Wells Fargo opened over 400,000 new accounts within 2.5 years, averaging 22,000 new accounts per month. This was facilitated by their acceptance of Matrícula Consular cards, issued by the Mexican consulate to Mexican citizens living outside Mexico, as valid identification for account opening, along with targeted service offerings in areas populated primarily by immigrants.

The future of banking with AI trends

There is a long way to go when it comes to overcoming language barriers in banking. The initial step is to acknowledge that recruiting branch staff and multilingual support is not enough to overcome these obstacles. Languages other than English may not be available for financial disclosures and written documentation, even when banks provide basic account information and client services in other languages. Furthermore, recent immigrants may find it difficult to adjust to the different ways that bank accounts, investments, and other financial products operate in the United States.

The field of GenAI  is expected to see significant expansion and transformation leading up to 2024. Businesses and professionals aiming to harness their full potential to transform sectors and redefine human technology interaction must embrace these anticipated advancements. Stay informed, prepare proactively, and enthusiastically welcome the innovative AI landscape of the future.
