Deutsche Bank, in partnership with DataMesh, is expanding its footprint in the rapidly growing e-commerce payments market across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Deutsche Bank has partnered with DateMesh, an Australian payment infrastructure provider to offer integrated payment solutions to simplify cross-border business transactions in Australia, India, Indonesia and South Korea.

This collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency and scalability of e-commerce businesses in APAC.

Under the new initiative, system support extending beyond DataMesh, provides an innovative payment outlet tailored to the scope and extent of numerous payment streams. This system delivers more efficient process solutions, facilitating cross-border transactions.

Rachel Whelan, head of corporate cash management for APAC, and Oliver von Quadt, global head of merchant solutions at Deutsche Bank, stated that the bank simplifies the payment process, enabling businesses to expand their offerings in complex markets.

“We aim to drive digital transformation for our clients, enhancing financial management with a unified infrastructure,” said von Quadt.

Payment solutions for e-commerce

Deutsche Bank offers a multi-channel payment initiation service to their merchants. The product includes card payments, local methods and e-wallet solutions, all combined with core banking functionalities, such as cash management and liquidity optimisation. As a result, businesses can better manage their finances more cost-effectively, streamlining the operational cost.

The platform’s innovative design supports merchant independence in setting up system infrastructure for both digital and physical sales channels. Key features, including tokenisation, real-time settlement and advanced analytics, have been embedded to increase merchant independence and control over their financial data.

Expansion into key e-commerce markets

Deutsche Bank plans to spread payment services to the rapidly growing e-commerce markets in Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines. With the increasing use of digital platforms, and e-commerce growth, these countries necessitate tailored solutions to meet diverse regulatory requirements. To ensure seamless payment integration, Deutsche Bank remains committed to providing efficient payment solutions across the region.

“With a local presence and strong regional support, we can provide effective solutions for businesses across APAC,” said Whelan.

Meeting future payment demands

Deutsche Bank’s latest payment solutions are designed to meet the increasing demand in APAC’s e-commerce. By leveraging payment processing and high-capacity data management, these solutions integrate seamlessly to support  corporates. They offer comprehensive features to enhance electronic data interchange (EDI) payments, from redundancy to managing daily financial transactions across multiple locations.
