Rob Chan takes on a key leadership role in Citi’s equity capital markets syndicate for Asia, reinforcing the bank’s strategic focus on the region. 

Citi has appointed Rob Chan as head of Asia ECM syndicate, drawing on his leadership in equity-linked origination since 2003.Chan's appointment is no surprise given his strong track record at Citi.  

Over the years, he has been instrumental in creating a market-leading equity-linked origination franchise in Asia Pacific (APAC). His keen knowledge of the region's financial markets and strong leadership skills have enabled him to navigate complex transactions, securing Citi’s leadership position in the market. 

Driving Citi’s ECM growth in Asia 

As head of ECM syndicate for Asia, Chan will oversee all equity and equity-linked transactions across the region. His duties will also include frequent interaction with Citi's banking, markets and risk organisations to facilitate smooth marketing and distribution of these transactions. His appointment is expected to strengthen Citi’s ECM capabilities and expand its presence in Asian financial markets.

Chan will continue leading equity-linked origination until a successor is named, ensuring a smooth transition. His leadership will be crucial to Citi’s continued success in  the competitive ECM space in Asia.
